Our first special is a Southwest Roast Beef Sandwich; Slow cooked Roast Beef topped with melted Colby Jack Cheese and placed on Whole Wheat Bread with fresh Salsa, Guacamole, and fresh Leaf Lettuce. Our second special is a Light n’ Blue Ham Sandwich; Applewood Smoked Ham placed between two slices of Toasted Wheatberry Bread and accompanied with our homemade Honey Mustard, fresh Spinach, Havarti Cheese, and a delicious Blueberry Jam for a nice burst of flavor.

Throughout the year there are fun, random, and comical holidays that celebrate some of the simple things in life, that often go uncelebrated. April is National BLT Month, and here at The Sweetery, we LOVE a good BLT! One of the best things about Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato is that they are delicious as a simple trio AND can easily be spiced up with extra ingredients!
This recipe is a fun take on the age-old sandwich: BLT Pasta Salad. It is perfect to add to your Spring and Summer menu!
BLT Pasta Salad Recipe
1 pound bacon
Freshly ground black pepper
1 pound pasta
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
3 medium tomatoes, cut into wedges
1 avocado, diced
1 head roman lettuce, chopped
Let’s make some Pasta Salad!
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil. Arrange bacon on the baking sheet; season generously with black pepper. Bake until the bacon is crisp, 15-17 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and cool completely.
Add Kosher salt to water and cook the pasta according to box instructions.
In a small bowl, whisk together mayo, mustard and, vinegar; season with salt and pepper.
In a large bowl, toss together the pasta, tomato, avocado and, romaine. Crumble bacon into the salad.
If serving immediately, add the dressing and toss well to coat. Or, leave undressed and store in the refrigerator for up to two days.
